Ginger Vitamin Bomb

Ginger Vitamin Bomb

Truth be told, I didn’t know what else to call this. So we’re calling it the Ginger Vitamin Bomb.

My husband is sick as I write this. He’s been having a tough time. But two things have helped him feel better. First, it was my homemade chicken stock: Preserving Your Own Chicken Stock, and second has been my ginger vitamin bomb. This is one of the easiest things to whip up in the kitchen. It’ll help you get that boost in your immune system to help you get better faster.

A hand holding a jar of homemade ginger vitamin bomb, featuring a creamy mixture with visible bits of ginger and lemon zest.

This is a simple and easy recipe that combines honey, ginger, and lemon.

When you’re finished, all you have to do is boil some water. Then, add a tablespoon or two of the ginger vitamin bomb to your mug and pour in the water. It turns into a “tea” that you can drink. Alternatively, you can just take a spoon and eat it straight.

You can place the vitamin bomb into a tea bag before putting it in a mug. Or you can just drink it as is with everything floating around. I personally don’t love the idea of the mix floating around while I drink. If you end up eating some of the ginger or lemon by mistake, do not fret. It’s going to only help you get better faster.

This recipe gets you a good balance. The acidity of the lemon and the sweetness of the honey cover up the sharpness of the ginger.

You can do it as a hot drink. OR steep it for 5-10 minutes, and then pour ice into it. Making it a great cold beverage as well!

Tips:

If you use raw honey, you are getting the full benefits of the vitamins within it.

Using local honey will always be the best thing to help you fight things like sickness or allergies.
