There’s been a great shift that’s been in the works. The world is groaning, waiting for the revealing of the sons and daughters of God. You can see it everywhere. Darkness, delusion, and deception are everywhere you look.
But in that darkness, there are those who run to light, run to hope. They are hungry for truth. Hungry for Jesus. And those who seek Him will find Him.
Many people attending churches as newcomers are coming in like a chick in an egg. They have to be at a specific temperature to survive. They have to have certain foods in small sizes to eat. Everything has to be centered around them in order for them to want to stay in that church. If not, they lose interest in the faith or find a different church to attend.
But there is a time coming when that will change. Soon, there will be chicks dropped off at the doors of those churches, ready to be discipled. They’ll be ready to transition to the real food; they’ll be able to withstand the cold. Ready to be led spiritually. Ready for a real, genuine relationship with Jesus. Ready to fully submit and live God’s way.
Pastors and preachers need to get ready. Pastors and preachers have been relying on a sermon that people want to hear. Preaching off the stage as if their job is done once they walk off and into the green room. That time is over.
If you are a pastor, purify yourselves and get ready to wash feet. People don’t need another ear-itching sermon. They need discipleship. People forget that a pastor is a shepherd. Their job is to tend to the flock. Protect them, lead them, care for them, lay their lives down for them. Jesus didn’t end His ministry once he left the temple. He washed the feet of His disciples; all those who came to Him were healed, and He often left to be alone to pray.
The American prosperity gospel is dead. No longer can believers live under the facade that everything goes well and our way if we follow Jesus. Grabbing the masses with our charisma and gifting does not lead them to CHRIST. It leads them to us. We must be people who are willing to lay our lives down for the sake of those He’s entrusted to us.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. – Matthew 16:25
It’s time to let go of the old and follow the Holy Spirit into what He’s doing now. Lay down your life. Because it’s only in Him that we’ll find it.
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert. – Isaiah 43:19
