Ingredients
Method
Rice
- Rinse and drain water from your rice at least five times in your pot or in a separate bowl. Once the rice and water are at a boil, turn the heat to 3/4 out of 10. Allow this to cook for 10-15 minutes.
- Add your rice and water to your pot and turn the heat to high.
- Once the rice and water are at a boil, turn the heat to 3/4 out of 10. Allow this to cook for 10-15 minutes.
- Turn off your heat and allow it to sit.
Kofta Meat
- Place all of your ingredients except the olive oil for cooking into one bowl and mix with your hands until everything is well incorporated.
- Turn your pan on to about a 6/10 heat and add your olive oil to it.
- Roll your meat into hot dog-shaped spheres about 3 inches long. Place them onto the pan individually, not allowing them to touch each other.
- Each piece should take about 10-14 minutes to cook per side.
Salad
- Chop your cucumbers and slice your onions and add them to your bowl.
- Then add your lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix.
Plating
- Place your rice in the bowl first, then place your meat on top of the rice. And add your salad to the side. Optional: You can always add a scoop or two of sour cream or feta cheese.
Notes
Rice
(Once you lift the lid and can no longer hear the sound of water boiling, it's ready.)
Meat
(I cook the pieces of meat in "triangles." Breaking down the cooking process into three different sides. Once the outside of each side has a nice crust to it, it's ready.)
